Chef Salt – the base for all my meat rubs

More often than not when I am cooking I am either sprinkling or massaging a meat rub into something. Most of those meat rubs are simply Chef Salt or Chef Salt with an ingredient or two added – like maybe brown sugar and cumin or chili powder.

1 cup salt

1 Tbsp. paprika

1 tsp. black pepper

1/4 tsp white pepper

1/4 tsp. celery salt

1/4 tsp. garlic salt

This is the basic tried and true recipe but you can add your own twist to it.  I usually like a little spicier rub so I add the cumin or chili powder. Also on many meats l like an onion flavor so I add, you guessed it, onion powder.

It’s all about your particular tastes so have fun with it and experiment.

Besides using as a meat rub, it also tastes great shaken onto fried chicken, hamburgers and french fries.

It’s making me hungry just talking about it!
